Top Activities to do in Songdo Central Park

Songdo Central Park lies at the very heart of the Songdo International Business District and it has been one of the most visited places in the region. Whether you visit Songdo for business or on vacation, the Songdo Central Park must be on your list of places to visit. Central Park is quite large and spread out so it helps to plan your day there. Here are some suggestions for activities and sights at Songdo Central Park.

A Walk Around the Park and Take Photos with the Statues

Spanning over 100 acres in area, the Songdo Central Park occupies about 10% of the Songdo Business District.  Taking a walk through the park is a great way to get some exercise and spend a couple of hours amidst nature. There are many public statues in the park, some of which are humorous or moving or simply beautiful. Take a few photos with your favourite states and let everyone know you are in Songdo.

Boating in the canal

There are two boat houses along the canal that rent boats of many different kinds. You could kayak, canoe or even get paddle boats and explore the park via the canal. The family boat is also a good way to take little ones along the river safely. The boats provide access to some other attractions such as the Rabbit Island and Deer Park.

Visit Rabbit Island and Deer Park

Songdo Central Park also has two animal enclosures that can be visited by the public, the Rabbit Island and the Deer Park. The deer, although few in number, are beautiful and majestic and they’re one of the favourites in the park. The rabbits are on a tiny man-made island in the canal and you can bring your boat right up to the island and see them up close.

The Tri Bowl

One of the most striking pieces of modern architecture in Korea and Asia, the Tri Bowl is a boldly futuristic building that is an arts and cultural multi-complex. The building is absolutely stunning and it seems as though each of the bowls is floating on the surface of the water that it is standing on. The bowls hold different spaces such as a theatre, an exhibition space and even a relaxation space.

G-Tower

Another landmark right on the edge of the park is the G-Tower. One of the tallest buildings in Incheon, the G-Tower holds many businesses and restaurants and it also has one of the best views of the Central Park. The Sky Garden is open to visitors in the day and you can go up there to get a breathtaking view of the Central Park and much of the Songdo Business District as well.

Enjoy some refreshments at a cafe

There are many cafes and restaurants along the park. At any point during your time at the park, you can always step out for a coffee, a snack or even a meal with the park not far away. There are so many kinds of cafes in the area that it won’t be hard to find one that you like.

Rent a bike

Another way to see the park is by riding a bike through it. There are plenty of bike paths the criss-cross the park and you can see a lot more of the park in a shorter span of time on the bike. Alternatively, if you like to ride a bike for fitness then there’s plenty of space for you to really cut loose. If you don’t have a bike, you can rent one at one of the boat houses.

Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo is just minutes away from Songdo Central Park and you can easily make multiple visits to the park from the hotel. Located in the heart of the Songdo Business District, Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo is an excellent choice for smart travellers.
