Cool down in your favorite Songdo Café
It’s always so nice to go out and enjoy the Korean Sun during Summertime. The beautiful Songdo International Business District has Songdo Central Park, the Yellow Sea and many other pristine outdoor spots, which are ripe for exploration. If the Summer heat is a bit too much for you and you want to chill out in the afternoon, check out one of the many cafes in Songdo. Here are some of the best cafes you can find in Songdo.
This chain offers one of the most complete café experiences in South Korea. Café La Lee is in two locations in Songdo and it is known for its incredible cakes and confections. The crockery is dainty fine china teapots and cups that make you feel like there is a sense of occasion. They make freshly brewed drip coffee and their selection of fresh cakes are extremely delicious.
An important fixture of the G-Tower, which overlooks the Songdo Central Park, Jarb Café is very charming and accommodating. The staff at Jarb are made up of friendly servers, who are attentive and try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The owner of the café is also very customer-focused and according to a great deal of anecdotes, she takes customer requests for custom sandwiches and salads. Jarb is a superb place for those looking for a break from spending time outdoors in the Songdo Central Park. The G-Tower has an incredible view of the Park and much of Songdo, so perhaps spending some time in Jarb Café is a good idea.
Not too far away from Songdo Central Park is a delightful and unassuming European-style café known as Café Sweet Code. Offering a wide range of satisfying coffees and other beverages, Café Sweet Code is a great place to start the day with delicious breakfast. Their brunch menu is especially celebrated, and this cheery café is definitely going to leave a happy impression on visitors.
For a place that is more discreet yet impressive, Café Waan is a reliable café. Café Waan is slightly darker and more toned down than the brighter and energetic cafes than many are used to, but it is definitely more nuanced. On some evenings, Café Waan hosts musical acts from calming jazz trios to larger bands. Coffee, dessert and food are all available here.
You don’t always have to look west for great bakeries and patisseries, sometimes the best café ideas are a bit closer to home. Tokyo Panya is another popular café that flanks the Songdo Central Park. The café is simple and warm with eastern charms fusing splendidly with western ideals. Tokyo Panya, as the name suggests, is known for its Japanese-themed baked goods. The buns, as such as the decadent green tea bun, are their signature products. They make fluffy flavoured breads and the little café has some seats for you to enjoy their products with a nice cup of coffee.
Created in the mould of a classic French boulangerie, Cinq Valeur is a real gem in the Songdo International Business District. Just a street away from the Songdo Central Park, Cinq Valeur has a scrumptious and complex pastries, cakes and confections. Whether you prefer German and French bakery classics, or you enjoy munching on some freshly-baked warm cookies, Cinq Valeur has you covered.
